What is Accreditation?
Accreditation is a formal, third party recognition of competence to perform specific tasks. It provides a means to identify a proven, competent evaluator so that the selection of a laboratory, inspection or certification body is an informed choice. UKAS accreditation means the evaluator can demonstrate to its customer that it has been successful at meeting the requirements of international accreditation standards.
Usually the reason for getting something independently evaluated is to confirm it meets specific requirements in order to reduce risks. Obvious examples are product failure, health risks, company reputation or to meet legal or customer requirements. Anything or anyone can be evaluated - products, equipment, people, management systems or organisations.
Accreditation by UKAS means that evaluators: testing and calibration laboratories, inspection and certification bodies have been assessed against internationally recognised standards to demonstrate their competence, impartiality and performance capability.

It is providing system certification according to ISO 9001: 2008, in INDIA & ABROAD. QA Certification Services is having direct accreditation with UKAS. for QMS certification. As an experienced certification body, QA Certification Services is authorized to assess quality standards. QA Certification Services has assisted various organizations in diverse sectors for enhancing and developing an effective management system and this is validation is more than 140 countries around the world.
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
UKAS accreditation provides an assurance of the competence, impartiality and integrity of conformity assessment bodies. UKAS accredited certification, testing and calibration and inspection reduces the need for suppliers to be assessed by each of their customers. UKAS' involvement in international groups provides for mutual recognition which further reduces the need for multiple assessments of suppliers and as a consequence helps to reduce barriers to trade.
INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION FORUM (IAF)
The International Accreditation Forum, Inc. (IAF) is the world association of Conformity Assessment Accreditation Bodies and other bodies interested in conformity assessment. Its primary function is to develop a world wide program of conformity assessment which will promote the elimination of non tariff barriers to trade.
IAF membership includes accreditation bodies from nations in all parts of the world, industry representatives and accredited certification/registration bodies, in an international organisation which seeks to encourage development of a single world-wide system of mutual recognition of conformity assessment certificates.
JAS-ANZ
JAS-ANZ is the government-appointed accreditation body for Australia and New Zealand responsible for providing accreditation of conformity assessment bodies (CABs) in the fields of certification and inspection.
COUNCIL FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES/ COUNCIL FOR ENGINEERING STUDIES
IEMS is recognized by "council for management studies" and "council for engineering studies".this approval from icme is an assurance of the qualification by distance education programme. This body is self autonomous registered under the government of maharashtra.
